Swimming pool construction by Kola

More than a poolA space of your own

Whether it opens onto the garden or sits within a dedicated pool room, your swimming pool should feel part of your home.

We bring the pool, construction work and surrounding space into one considered plan. From layout and groundworks to finishes, equipment and the final terrace, we’ll help you work through the choices and agree a clear scope before building begins.

Our wider construction and landscaping services mean the areas around your pool can be planned with the same care as the water itself.

Your home, your way to swim

Start with how you want to use your pool. We’ll help you explore a design that suits your property, space and budget.

Considered from the beginning

The details that make the difference

A successful pool combines the structure, water, equipment and surrounding space. We’ll discuss each part with you before confirming the specification.

Design and layout

Shape, dimensions, depth and entry steps, with the position of the pool considered alongside your home and garden.

Groundworks and structure

Access, excavation, ground conditions, drainage and the pool construction method, planned around the requirements of your site.

Finishes and pool edges

Lining, tiles, coping and surrounding surfaces chosen together for a coordinated look and suitability around water.

Filtration and water treatment

Space for equipment, servicing access and water treatment considered as part of the design, rather than added as an afterthought.

Heating, lighting and covers

Explore equipment and cover choices with your intended swimming season, energy use and maintenance needs in mind.

The wider setting

Pool rooms, terraces, decking and landscaping coordinated with the pool, so the finished space works as a whole.

Made personal

It’s the finishing touchesThat make it yours

Clean-lined coping, a beautifully finished terrace and the right water colour can change the feel of the whole space.

We’ll help you bring the materials together, whether you prefer a calm, contemporary pool room or a garden pool surrounded by greenery. Discuss steps, lighting, seating and finishes as part of your design.

A clear starting point

What will your pool project cost?

Every home and site is different. A useful quotation needs to consider more than the pool dimensions, especially for an indoor pool with a dedicated building.

We’ll discuss your priorities and budget, then set out the proposed work and what is included. Your design, access and specification will guide the final price.

Swimming pool questions

Have a particular property or design in mind? Call 0800 038 5746 or send us your ideas.

Does Kola build indoor and outdoor swimming pools?

Yes. Our residential swimming pool service covers indoor and outdoor projects. Tell us about your home, the space available and what you want from the pool so we can discuss the appropriate design and scope of work.

Can a pool work in a smaller garden?

A compact pool may be an option. Suitability depends on the available space, boundaries, access, ground conditions and room for equipment and surrounding surfaces. Share an approximate garden size and your ideas so we can assess the possibilities.

How long does swimming pool construction take?

The programme depends on the design, construction method, access, weather, ground conditions and any associated building or landscaping work. An indoor pool room adds a separate construction element. We’ll discuss the likely programme once the scope has been assessed.

Will I need planning permission?

Planning requirements depend on the property and proposal. Outdoor pools and indoor pool buildings can be subject to different limits and conditions. Confirm the position with your local planning authority before work begins. The Planning Portal swimming pool guidance is a useful starting point for projects in England.

Can you include patios, decking and landscaping?

Yes. Kola’s wider services include porcelain paving, resin bound pool surrounds, composite decking and landscaping. We can discuss these alongside your pool and include the agreed associated work in the project quotation.

What about heating and running costs?

Running costs depend on pool size, the water temperature, season of use, heating system, cover and maintenance routine. For indoor pools, the building and humidity-control systems also matter. We’ll discuss equipment options and practical considerations rather than promise a fixed daily cost.

Do you offer ongoing pool maintenance?

Ongoing servicing is a separate requirement to the construction project. We’ll discuss care, equipment guidance and servicing arrangements before handover, and confirm exactly what is included in your quotation.

Which areas do you cover?

Contact Kola with your project postcode. With offices in Poole, Maidenhead and London, we welcome residential pool enquiries across Dorset, Berkshire, Surrey, London and surrounding areas. Coverage and availability are confirmed for each project.
