Do I need planning permission?

Will salt air and sea spray damage the surface?
No. Salt does not attack resin bound the way it attacks steel or untreated timber, and the resin is UV stable so strong summer sun will not fade or yellow it. Because water passes straight through the surface rather than sitting on it, the freeze and thaw damage you see on sealed drives is far less of an issue.
What upkeep does a resin bound driveway need?
Very little. A brush over now and then and an occasional rinse with a hose or a low pressure wash keeps it looking new. There are no weeds to pull out of joints and no gravel to rake back into place. Looked after properly, a resin bound driveway will last fifteen to twenty years.
