Bradford-on-Avon is built up the side of a steep valley in Bath stone, with the Saxon Church of St Laurence, the Tithe Barn and the packhorse bridge at the bottom and terraced houses climbing the hill above. The ground is Cornbrash and Forest Marble limestone over Oxford Clay, and the two things that decide a driveway here are gradient and stone.
Winsley, Limpley Stoke, Trowbridge, Holt, Melksham and the villages along the Avon are all within our working area, and we cover this part of Wiltshire from our Poole office.

Resin bound paving is a premium surfacing system created by blending natural stone aggregates with a UV-stable resin binder, producing a smooth, seamless, and visually harmonious surface particularly well suited to Bradford-on-Avon’s BA15 conservation area and Bath stone architectural setting.
Kola Construction has delivered premium resin bound installations for over 25 years, including projects in some of the South West’s most significant conservation settings. We understand the expectations of Bradford-on-Avon’s homeowners and the heightened responsibility that comes with working in one of England’s finest historic towns. We use only UV-stable resins and carefully selected warm-toned aggregates that complement the town’s characteristic Bath stone and limestone character.
Planning consideration: Bradford-on-Avon is one of the largest and most significant Conservation Areas in Wiltshire, administered by Wiltshire Council. The town has an exceptionally high density of listed buildings, and virtually the entire historic core is subject to conservation area controls. Whilst a permeable driveway replacement generally does not require planning permission, any alterations to listed boundary walls, gate piers, stone copings, or traditional surfaces within a listed curtilage are likely to require Listed Building Consent. Bradford-on-Avon’s conservation area also has a detailed Conservation Area Appraisal that is a material consideration in planning decisions. We strongly recommend consulting Wiltshire Council’s conservation team before beginning any driveway works in the historic town.
