Resin-Bound and Tarmac Driveway Installation at Clyffe Manor House, Tincleton

Project overview

Kola Construction was commissioned to transform the extensive gravel driveway of the prestigious Clyffe Manor House into a durable, aesthetically pleasing surface that complements the property’s classic charm while addressing practical drainage and vehicle load concerns.

The Challenge

The existing gravel driveway, while traditional, was impractical for the scale and usage of the space. Spanning over 620m² and accommodating up to 12 vehicles, the surface needed:

  • Improved durability for high-traffic use
  • Enhanced curb appeal fitting the grandeur of the manor
  • Effective drainage to prevent standing water
  • A solution that could blend seamlessly with the adjacent main road

OUR SOLUTION

After a detailed consultation and on-site measurements, the client chose a hybrid solution—a combination of tarmac and resin bound surfacing—to deliver both strength and style.

Key Installation Steps:

  • Pressure Washed Existing Surface
Our team spent additional time ensuring a spotless base, critical for optimal adhesion of resin and tarmac.
  • Installed Block Edging
Used to neatly separate resin and tarmac zones, enhancing both functionality and appearance.
  • Tarmac Application
Applied to the main driveway and turning circle, visually extending the main road to the entrance and improving flow.
  • Resin Bound UVR Application (Domino Colour Blend)
Installed in designated parking bays, this UV-stable surface provides a modern and decorative finish, complementing the estate’s architecture.

The Result

  • Elegant Contrast between the sleek tarmac entry and resin-bound parking areas
  • Effective Drainage with reduced puddling and water retention
  • Enhanced Property Aesthetics with a surface that lifts the first impression
  • Long-Term Durability, ready to support heavy and frequent vehicle use

The entire project was completed in just 6 days, with a final-day push involving multiple teams working simultaneously to meet our high standards of precision and quality.

CLIENT SATISFACTION

Though we don’t have a written testimonial yet, the client expressed high satisfaction with the outcome and is now considering Kola Construction for an additional project—applying hydrophobic coating to all external walls of the Manor House.
